Anita Ekberg - Congrats!

Anita Ekberg, Italian native since long, came to Sweden this week to celebrate her 75th birthday. And that was four days of celebrations!

She inaugurated the exhibition Anita of Sweden at the Swedish Film Institute dressed in black, gold and blue topazes, and she had lunch with Ministers of the Swedish Government, dressed in white.

I think that Anita is swell!, Pixi confesses. In fact, Fellini is one of my favourite directors and the film La Dolce Vita, where La Ekberg bathed, or waded, in the fountain Fontana di Trevi in Rome in the middle of the night, is FUN! I can't help it, I just think it is!

But POOR Marcello Mastroianni in the fountain scene! He was going to go after her because he had fallen sooooo muuuuch in love with her. But the water was cold, he thought. He was FREEZING! And he was afraid to freeze his ... yes ... off. So he put on a rubber-costume under his suit. And waded after her, walking on boxes in the cold water because he was much shorter than Anita. And on top of that he had to be very, very romantic ...

Also shorter than Anita Ekberg is the minister Leif Pagrotsky, with whom she had lunch at Grand Hotel in Stockholm. And La Ekberg, she has grown. Definitively grown, which the photographer Jurek Holtzer captured at the lunch table at Grand. But he didn't take any photos of the food they were served. And that, says Pixi, is a real pity! Pixi is almost sure that Anita eats too much spaghetti and bread back home in Italy. And Pixi really hopes, for Anitas own sake, that she learnt something about lean cuisine on her visit here in Sweden. Like at the Swedish Film Institute, where she was treated to a seafood buffet ...
