Pixi is just back ...

from Kerstin in Upplands Väsby, still feeling dizzy from last night's Sangria ...

But I don't mind, says Pixi. Mem's Vino Tinto Sangria was PERFECT a warm summer's night like yesterday, JUST PERFECT when you want something cool to drink without too much alcohol.
But when I told Kerstin about the Sangria Kerstin said that Systemet, our chain of liquour stores in Sweden, will quit selling Vino Tinto! Pixi got a shock!
This wine is, as a matter of fact, part of the wine-drinking HISTORY in our country! And now, it will just disappear ... ! And Kerstin, she knew the story very well:

Vino Tinto was the first Spanish wine to be sold openly in our country - Sweden is by tradtion full of beer- and vodka-drinkers. And that was in the 1940's, after the second world war, when the Swedes became more internationally aware and sophisticated. It became a real hit in the 50's when everybody who thought they were Somebody, started to drink Vino Tinto and the famous Anders Beckman got the prestigeous assignment to design the label.
And now, 64 years old, the classic Vino Tinto will vanish. The reason? Swedes has become avid wine-drinkers and Systemet is importing MASSES of other brands ... from all over the world.

When Pixi called Mem to tell her all this, Mem was as shocked as Pixi and said that THIS is a national catastropy, Vino Tinto is a GREAT table-wine and great for cooking and great for SANGRIA at a GREAT price!
And there we were talking on the phone, Mem and me, Pixi says, still feeling dizzy from last night's sangria, and getting nostalgic and sad by the fact that Vino Tinto will not be sold anymore and that we never, ever in history will drink Mem's Vinto Tinto Sangria again ...
